As the Silverado, Sierra and the variants that GM builds have grown more complex and computer controlled, a new wave of vehicle modification has begun to take off and it has nothing to do with spinning wrenches. It’s vehicle computer modification.
Many of the optional features that GM has offered in the last decade are simply turned on or off with a line of code inside one or more of the vehicles various control computers and modules inside of your truck.
For example, didn’t get remote start but know it was an option the year your truck was sold? You can now simply buy a new fob and have a computer reprogrammed on your truck to add that feature.
White Automotive has been giving Chevy and GMC enthusiasts the option of enabling features in their trucks that they might not have even known was possible for years. They’ve been able to change remote start run times, enable your backup camera to turn on while using a turn signal, add Android Auto/CarPlay to vehicles that didn’t have it before, and far more.
But, until recently, adding these features wasn’t super easy. You had to remove one or more computers from your vehicle, send them to White Automotive, and re-install when they came back days later.
Well, until now.
Today White Automotive is announcing a new product in partnership with BT Dieselworks with that adds layers of functionality, features and quick module reprogramming to the OBDII based Auto Sync.
With this new tool enthusiasts will be able to extensively flash, reprogram, and modify their vehicles features easily and without permanent modification through the OBDII port.
