Chicago’s old and authentic auto show, the largest in attendance and longest-running, begins (for media) today. Yet starting yesterday, there was vehicles on display in the Technology and Concept Garage. In year’s past we’ve seen Ford introduce their backup camera/steering option, few other notables, and this year isn’t vastly different.
We’ll have to wait for Chevy/GMC trucks until later today. That said, there was a bit of eye-candy on display yesterday.
A Kia “concept” fitted out as an expedition vehicle with tasty gold-toned wheels and full-on Baja lighting showed what you could do to your Blazer or even Equinox.
Ram also got campy with a Ram fitted with full-on real expedition camping setup that would be huge fun to duplicate for your Silverado or Sierra AT4.
However, the best and most significant vehicle was a running Mach-e from Ford. Inside and out it is as exciting as previous photos have shown. The interior telematics display resembles a portrait-oriented 24-inch iMac. It’s huge and with a nice rotary control at the bottom.
