You may have a stressful commute, but we’re guessing you’ve never had a day on the road like this Texas teen. Earlier this week, 16-year-old Riley Leon was driving home from a job interview when his truck was tossed around like a toy by a tornado. He survived, but his Chevy Silverado wasn’t as lucky.
Leon’s ordeal was caught on camera by a storm chaser, but the whole thing is unreal, even with video evidence. The truck is flipped over on its side and then flipped back onto its wheels in a matter of seconds. Leon then just drives off like nothing happened, though his truck took quite a beating in the process.
After all that, it seems everything will work out for the teen. A local Chevy dealer, Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet in Fort Worth, is stepping up to replace Leon’s truck with a new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 All Star Edition, which starts at around $50,000. The dealer worked with the Chevy cares foundation to get the truck to Leon, though they say they had to work to convince him it wasn’t a hoax. The foundation is also donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross to help with the recovery efforts.
