What Is the Cadillac Escalade IQ?

The Escalade IQ has finally been unveiled, and it’s unlike any Escalade that’s ever been produced before. Based on the General Motors Ultium platform, the Escalade IQ takes Cadillac Luxury to an entirely new level.

A quick look over the bullet points above and you get the idea that Cadillac is going for broke when it comes to upping the Escalade’s game. From the world-class-looking interior to the massive 55-inch interior display- we’ve never seen a Cadillac meant for the masses quite like the Escalade IQ.

First things first, however. The IQ is based on GM’s ultium platform- with close relation to the GMC HUMMER EV. In fact, it shares the same battery and motor setup as the HUMMER EV, albeit with a slightly detuned power output (750 horsepower) as a caveat to increase range. Speaking of range, the Escalade IQ can travel up to 450 miles in one charge. Using DC fast charging, the IQ can add 100 miles of charge in as little as 10 minutes. Interestingly enough, the Escalade IQ uses a CCS charge connector, despite GM signaling they would switch the NACS in the near future.

The Escalade IQ shares some tricks from GM’s other Ultium-based SUV/Pickups, including four-wheel steering, an adjustable ride height air suspension, and a driver-selectable increased power mode. Called “Watts To Freedom” on the HUMMER, Cadillac has chosen a more elegant “Velocity Max” moniker for the IQ.

Unsurprisingly, the IQ also features GM’s self-driving architecture, Super Cruise. That means drivers can traverse over 400,000 miles of two and four-lane roads in North America without ever touching the wheel.

Cadillac is also including Bi-Directional Charging for the Escalade IQ. That means not only can power flow into the IQ through the charging port, it can go outwards as well. With the proper equipment, you can use the IQ to power your entire home during a power outage or provide generator-like capability wherever your travel.

2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ Styling

Outside, the exterior design of the Escalade IQ is unique yet recognizable. You see hints of the current ICE power Escalade mixed with new Cadillac Design language seen on the CELESTIQ and LYRIQ.  The wheel and tire package is also a statement. 24-inch wheels are wrapped in 35-inch tires making for an almost cartoonish appearance that draws attention to the wheel wells. The IQ looks fast, standing still.  It’s satisfying yet interesting and we think it will perfectly appeal to the target market.

Inside is where the real magic happens. The 55-inch pillar-to-pillar display, followed by a large control display surface below, is futuristic and hints at the up-market audience this vehicle aims to capture. The entire system runs with “Google Built-In”, meaning that you can run many of the same apps as your Android Smartphone on the infotainment system in the Escalade IQ. Google Maps, Spotify, YouTube, Hulu, YouTube Music, YouTube Kids, and even the Play Store all run natively.

But, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay do not appear to be supported at all. The system is paired with a 5G cellular connection for fast internet speed for all these programs and features.

An optional “Second Row Executive Seating Package” adds stowable trays, 12.6-inch personal screens, dual wireless phone charging pads, a rear command center control screen, USB-C Charging Ports, HDMI inputs, and massaging second-row seats.

When you opt for the Second Row Executive Seating Package, you unlock an optional 40-speaker AKG Studio Reference audio system. A 36-speaker version of the same system is optional without the executive seating package and a 19-speaker system comes standard.

An all-new panoramic glass roof is another IQ-specific feature that adds light and visibility to the vehicle’s interior.

What Is The Price Of The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ?

The Escalade IQ will go on sale later this year starting at “around $130,000,” including destination charges. The vehicle will be produced at GM’s “Factory Zero”, the same place other Ultium vehicles, like the GMC HUMMER EV, are manufactured. Factory Zero is located in Hamtramck, Michigan. A reservation or purchase system has not yet been announced.
