If the rear view camera on your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD or GMC Sierra HD isn’t displaying correctly there’s a new Technical Service Bulletin that applies to you and can fix the issue.
Technical Service Bulletin: #20-NA-163:
Release Date: 10/29/2020
Vehicles TSB #20-NA-163: Applies To
- 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD (2500 & 3500)
- 2020 GMC Sierra HD (2500 & 3500)
Reported Condition
Owners of a 2020 Chevy Silverado HD or GMC Sierra HD may notice the rearview camera view on their truck has become distorted. Commonly described as being “zoomed out” or “fisheye” in appearance, backup guidelines also shrink during this problem.
Cause & Solution
The root of the issue lies in your truck’s Video Processing Control Module (VPCM). An inaccurate calibration will cause the VPCM to display the rearview camera feed incorrectly.
A trip to a dealership will allow a technician to verify the correct bootloader has been applied to the VPCM and will replace the VPCM if it is not running the correct software.
