There’s no shortage of ways to customize your Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra, including serious engine upgrades and drivetrain modifications, but not all mods are created equal. Lingenfelter, the legendary Corvette tuners, just announced an exclusive Magnuson supercharger for 2019+ GM trucks that promises 150+ horsepower gains and solid reliability. Coming from a shop like Lingenfelter, we think you can trust those claims.
The supercharger packages promise significant gains in horsepower and torque. When added to the 6.2-liter V8, output climbs to 650 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. With the 5.30liter V8, power jumps to 545 horsepower and 535 pound-feet of torque. To maintain reliability, the superchargers come with an advanced charge air intercooler, and the kit is said to have minimal impact on fuel economy.
If you’re interested in adding more power to your truck, be advised that the kits don’t come cheap. At $9,199 before you pay any installation or additional parts costs, you’ll have to be fairly dedicated to supercharging your truck. You’ll save some cash if you’re handy and can do the work yourself, but budget extra if you think you will need help. The good news is that once it’s installed, you will have the peace of mind that the supercharger itself is covered by a three-year/36,000-mile warranty.
