Automakers are understandably secretive about new vehicle launches, as they want to keep their latest and greatest a secret until it’s actually for sale. Lately, however, teases, both in video and image formats, have become the norm. GMC is carrying on that tradition with its teaser for the new Sierra, but at least the brand finally shared the truck’s reveal date. The Sierra will be officially unveiled on October 21 at 8pm ET, so set your clocks.

In the teaser video, which was shared to social media, GMC is calling the truck the Denali Ultimate. That’s already a package for the Denali model in the Sierra lineup, but we don’t know if it will continue on as an options group, or if GMC will split it as a standalone trim level. The current Denali Ultimate Package features power steps, a power sunroof, a rear camera mirror, adaptive cruise control, and more. It’s unclear how the package will evolve for the new truck.

In terms of the rest of the Sierra lineup, we don’t have much to go on. In the teaser video, it sounds like the truck is being propelled by a V8 engine, but GMC hasn’t shared any details on powertrain options for the new Sierra.

The good news is that we won’t have to wait long to figure out what’s going on with the new trucks. GMC notes that the truck will be available for reservation on October 21, but there’s no indication of how the process will play out, so we’ll have to wait and see if a deposit will be required.
