GMC has released surprising information about additional trim levels of the HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV, including new range estimates, horsepower figures and towing capabilities. You still won’t be able to buy one unless you have a multi-year-old reservation.
HUMMER EV Edition 1 Pickup & 3X Pickup Specifications
Reservation holders waiting for an Edition 1 Pickup already know the color and standard features they expect to get on their HUMMER EV. That includes a standard Interstellar White Paint Scheme, the Extreme Off-Road Package, and 329 miles of range standard.
But if you reserved a HUMMER EV Pickup under the 3X trim level, your options have been less clear, until today. GMC has lifted the veil on several specs and confirmed what several outlets have assumed and or hoped.
The details confirmed today include; 3X Pickups will come with 22-inch wheels and on-road tires as standard equipment. The Extreme Off-Road Package, which includes additional under-vehicle cameras, extra underbody protection, heaver duty drivetrain components, locking differentials, rocker protection and 35-inch wheels, is an optional add for buyers.
Horsepower for the 3X trim level has also been confirmed at 1,000, and torque at the wheel-hub is listed at 11,500 lb-ft. That matches Edition 1 for both power and torque.
With easier rolling on-road biased rubber, the 3X’s standard range and towing capacity has increased over the Edition 1- now listed at 355 miles of range. That’s an increase of 29 additional miles. However, it’s worth noting that current Edition 1 Pickup owners (including us) are getting far better than the GMC estimated 329 miles of range.
Towing capacity for 3X jumps nearly 1,000 lbs, a welcome capacity upgrade. Edition 1 owners can tow up to 7,500 lbs, with 3X owners seeing an 8,500 lb capacity.
Both Edition 1 and 3X Pickup variations will come standard with 3 electric motors. Two are located in the rear and one is located in the front.
GMC has also confirmed that 3X Pickups will come standard with Four-wheel-Steer, Crabwalk, and WTF (Watts-To-Freedom).

HUMMER EV Edition 1 SUV and 3X SUV Specifications
HUMMER EV SUV buyers are also getting additional clarification about how their vehicles will be built and which options they can choose.
Both Edition 1 and 3X HUMMER EV SUV will come standard with 830 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque. Horsepower, while down slightly from the pickup, is a direct result of having less battery modules. However, acceleration isn’t affected much since the SUV is smaller and weighs slightly less than the pickup. The SUV in WTF mode can still travel 0-60 miles-per-hour in 3.5 seconds.
Range estimates for the HUMMER EV SUV are down slightly from the Pickup as expected. The Edition 1 and 3X SUV with the Extreme Off-Road Packge will be rated for 298 miles of range. The On-road Edition 1 and 3x with standard on-road wheels will be able to travel 314-miles. But as we mentioned above, current HUMMER EV owners are finding the range estimates to be a little conservative.
The HUMMER EV SUV will also match Edition 1 Pickup towing capacities at 7,500 lbs across the board.
