Regular Production Option Codes, aka RPO codes, have been used by General Motors since 1970. You probably already know a few off-hand. Z71, ZR2, L87- these are all RPO codes used to signify features and options you can get on their various models. From engines to colors, your truck has dozens of RPO codes that when put together can be used to identify the various options your particular truck has.
Some RPO codes are 1500 specific and or Silverado specific. For that reason, we’ve split these listings up by Chevy/GMC and 1500 vs 2500/3500.
Where can you find the RPO codes for your specific truck?
Prior to 2018, General Motors typically printed the entire list of RPO codes on a certification sticker, usually found in the glovebox. After 2018 and during the 2021 model year, that sticker was moved to the lower driver’s door jam. RPO codes are now encoded in a 2d data-matrix code that can easily read by most modern smartphones. Simple scan the code and your RPO codes should be listed.
