Ball Joints Went Bad W/ Leveling Kit

Recommended Posts

I've had the 1.5" Ready Lift kit on for almost 2 years. I recently went to bigger tires for my 2nd set, and went up to the 2.25" level kit by putting in the lower strut spacers. I also put in the 1" bigger rear blocks. I've only had this set up on for about a week, but I don't notice any difference in the ride. I really like how the truck came out.

Matt, should I definitely expect premature front end issues because of of the 2.25" kit? I don't off road with this truck. It's my daily driver and my driving consists of 75% interstate travel, 25% city. I do get off road somewhat frequent but it's on gravel roads at our hunting camp. It's a 2011 Z71, 69K miles. Thanks.

Any lift kit of any height over stock will accelerate ball joint wear. It's just a fact. No one can say for sure how long the ball joints will last, but when they do go be sure to replace them with something more robust such as moog or any of the other grease-able kits out there.
