Tahoe Down At The Dealer

Recommended Posts

We have a 08 tahoe thats in the shop for a shift issue in between 1st and 2nd. The tech tore this thing apart and found that a couple of servos could be replaced and belived due to the Superchips flash pac in the truck that the owner must run the piss out of it. So the tech had asked me if the tuner does things like that to the truck, (this guys isnt into this stuff). So i had told him that yeah it does but as with any tune hopefully the guy didnt install it over a pre-destroyed or messed up trany as the tuner will just amplify the problem.

Anyway this is just the typical dealer beating down the aftermarket companys cuz of a part installed. Gm will eat a trany cuz of this customer but he has to take the tune off the truck. Next time he will have to buy the trans. The tech had did the same thing with my truck when i had a shift issue between 1st and 2nd he claimed my Predator was the cause of it. But after Johan at diablo hooked me up with a differnt tune we were able to weed out that problem. The truck runs fine now.

What kind of shift issue? I had a normal Flashpaq w/ my 06 YD and it had a strange lag/delay during the 1-2 shift. At the time, it wasn't exactly uncommon on their forum. They couldn't fix it but suspected it had something to do with TM and the added power. At least they were understanding enough to take a return well past the 30-day return period.

When I got the W4M tune, it had a similar issue, but once I explained the issue and sent it back, he was able to fix it.
