Shorty headers won't net you any power increases on the 4.8 or 5.3. Long tubes are the way to go but you'll have to buy new cats and do some creative custom crossover pipe and relocate the O2 sensors and wiring. I'd stick with the tune and maybe a cat back system unless you are willing to tackle an expensive and large project.

click here this is the only reason i am considering 18HP and 32 ft-lb. I think that is some decent power for just a bolt-on.

Yeah well go to K&N's site and look at how much "gain" you supposedly get by swapping filters... Believe what you want. Websites can claim whatever they want to claim.

Wait until some of the disappointed shorty header guys in here speak up. Dyno charts do not show much of ANY gain using shorty headers on these trucks. You did ask for our opinions.

Yes I did, and thats what Im lookin for.

Yea thats what i wanna see, some dyno #'s. with K&n they actually show dyno charts, but that kind HP really isnt felt regardless but is there nontheless. I'd hope they aren't giving false info either, just bad business. Gibson doesnt show a dyno chart just gives the #'s.

I'm not giving you shit. The only reason I am chiming in here is I also wanted to do some shorty headers to my truck back when I did my exhaust but the more I read, the more I learned that I was wasting my money. There are still people buying them but a lot are being disappointed. I originally wanted some because I have some mustang buddies that run the BBK shorties and get big time gains on the stangs... I was hoping for the same on my truck.
