Left Side Trailer Brake Light Not Working

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me if the 2000 Silverado use this same module behind the fuse box?

I am having the same problem with the left side trailer brake light not working.

I went to the parts house and they said that the part# 10383321 or #15764135 was not compatable with a 2000 Silverado? Can anyone advise me if my truck uses this module?

I have a similar problem. Neither turn signal/brake light works on the trailer(s) but everything works on the truck. Checked all fuses, OK. Rewired trailer connections under bed of truck - no help. Everything is factory and has worked flawlessly for 12 years. Has anyone actually fixed this problem? Did replacing the LCM fix it? Is there a converter (turn signal lights and brake lights are separate on the truck but same filament on trailers)?

Hey lavacarancher, wondering if you ever resolved the issue? I have an '05 Silverado 1500 and the exact same headaches, left side trailer signal and brake light don't work but all fuses check-out okay. If u found a fix I hope you'll share your solution.

Thanks!

Mine turned out to be the 7 pin connector attached to the bumper. This is the factory harness. Cut it open after I got it off the truck and all the wires were either corroded and about to break or had already broken off. Replaced the harness and everything good to go. It was NOT the LCM.

Update: I pulled the panel off below the steering wheel and looked for the LCM module located behind the fuse panel. In fact, the 2000 Silverado does not have this LCM module. I changed the flasher relay which is also located behind the in-cabin fuse panel but the problem still exists. KE4HIE

Thanks to the internet and this site I saved my sanity. I ask myself why I don't go to the net first but I guesstorture is my thing. I have a bunch of GMC DURAMAX DIESEL trucks through our business but never seen a problem witha left trailer brake light not working. I got really tired of everyone telling me my left brake light wasn't working (never the less the legal implications) It is the plug in module right behind the under dash fuse block and was an easy fix (this after I chased all the wiring with a test light through the whole truck and found I had nothing all the way to the front) I have a little bit of an advantage in owning a recycling yard and now I carry a spare in the centre console!!! 15764135 2/4-w/opt trailering .

.

Thank this helps a lot I took note of the sub # in these forum .the garage told me it looks like lights module but did not have enough time to check it,because I needed the truck .now I will go and buy this part and install it myself .
