3rd Time A Charm - Biomechanical Airbrushing

Recommended Posts

Like the saying goes, I've finally found the right artist for the job. So I decided it deserved it's own new thread, didn't want the other crap airbrushing as a reminder.

Below is the first sample I got today after a few hours of sketching, he started today. I'm content with the direction it's going in so far, style is right on target. Unlike the previous artists who held onto my parts for 5+ months, this artist claims he needs only a week to paint everything, and with great detail (if you saw his other work in my last thread.)

Here is the intake after a few hours of painting this afternoon. He sketched out in white and just started adding a small amount of detail in black up to this point.

Cool stuff... now THIS is biomechanical airbrushing. If you recall the first artist painted a ribcage and lung. Well, I decided to let him just do his thing. It was a surprise since it was different than what I was expecting, which is a good thing in this case.

Tomorrow night the intake should be near done as he's spending all day painting my parts, so I'll post more photos each night until they're done sometime next week.

Did you have to pay those other 2 guys anything?

How much is this guy charging you?

Unfortunately yes Jeff. Combined the first two guys took $1,700 of my cash for less than half done work. I'm chalking it up to a learning experience.

This guy is only charging me half of that for the entire thing.

Should've just given me the money, I'd have even bought myself a nice set of black wheels for my truck for you.

Looks good, not too bio, not too mechanical, JUUUUUST right.

Yep, I'm not happy believe me. I would've rather bought you black wheels then waste it on those two losers, at least I could see your wheels from time to time.

Yep, here you are.

Well, another surprise. As I'm opening up the new pics it's apparent he went in a new direction making the bone structure appear more like bones as you'd see in a rib. Claims still a ton of detail, more tubes..etc to be added, but here's the latest pics. Says he'll be done with airbrushing on everything by early midweek. Now that's progress. :fume:

F*cking awesome, I like it.

But more importantly, do YOU like it? :fume:

Ha, ok Drew Jr.

Yes, I DO like it, but I wasn't expecting him to redo it..lol So when the pictures loaded I was like wtf at first.

I also was bummed that he redid it and it still didn't look like the first kids realistic ribcage/lung. But you know what, this has more of a evil, non-human look which I think is far more interesting than just a medical painting of human body parts.
