5.3 Tune

CD82

Recommended Posts

hi im new here and have some questions about the vortech 5.3 and a tune for it.

i have a 2001 Silverado 1500 LS Z71 its got 146,803 miles on her. got the Auto-Trac Transfercase

anyway i do alot of intown driving and some highway driving it does get decent gas milage could be worse.

im wondering what are my options in pcm tunes an mods that could incrase my performance.

or is the engine too old whould it be too hard on it beeing it has this many miles on it

now i like to romp on it some and it gets up an goes ok it will bark the bf goodrich all terrian tires

but i whould like to have some more power an incrase my gas mileage some

so what are my options

and plus this mustang gt likes to stomp me at takeoff from redlights sometimes. on the way to work in the mournings so maybe i could make him eat it ? i dont know i guess he gets a kick out of out running a pick up

If you have any desire to be able to alter the tune in any way, or to make changes for things like tire size/gear swap or shift point adjustment, then a Predator is the way to go.

All trucks will act differently, especially in different climates and with different fuel quality, so having the ability to make changes to the tune is a wonderful thing.

The handheld also gives you the option of running a tune optimized for 87 or Premium fuel, and you can switch whenever you want. Cant say that for a Mail order tune.

Thanks

Mike

well might need one for tire sizes if i ever go with a larger tire. i was reading some about this balckbear tune lastnight on the forums here. and noticed he can make the tow haul more into a race mode. whats that all about i dont ever tow a trailer and if i do its not nothin big or nothing. a race mode whould be neet

I hate when vendors try to push their shit on everyone....bah **** handhelds

Who the fuk is pushing anything? Mike just stated his case for the Predator since everyone is bashing handhelds. Calm down chief, nobody will take your God forsaken custom tune from ya :)

Relax "chief" I should have put a :lol: in there for ya! I was joking. No need to run to Mikes rescue

Like the ongoing forum war between handhelds and custom tunes matters. Its preference.
