Beaux Duke
Shane, I read a post and saw a photo of your truck with the extendable factory towing mirrors. I'm considering getting some but since my garage door is a tight fit I was wondering just how much wider than the stock electric mirrors your truck is when the mirrors are in the retracted position. I know they extend out 4 inches each so I'd definitely have to retract them before parking but I'm hoping they aren't so wide when retracted that I'd be unable to park with out folding them back. Would it be much trouble for you to provide me with a measurement from edge to edge? Thanks, Beaux
Shaners
Beaux, I measured my mirrors in three different ways. All the measurements were with them retracted. 1) Measurement from the glass to the end of the mirror folded out is approx 13 1/2" 2) Measurement from the glass with the mirror folded in is approx 7 1/2" 3) Measurement with a tape measure through the cab of the truck from mirror tip to mirror tip folded out is just shy of 8 feet. I hope these are the numbers you needed. If not let me know and I'll try again. Shane
Beaux Duke
Thanks Shane... I appreciate you going to all that trouble. Might be a while before I get around to the mirrors. I just broke off a rear wheel stud while rotating my tires tonight. You can check out my post about it in "Heavy Duty". Thanks again! Beaux Duke
Got the new mirrors installed. I like them a lot. I sort of miss the electrical adjustments though. But now that they are adjusted everything is fine. Thanks again for those measurements.
Shaners
No problem. I'm glad you like them and I assume they must still fit through your garage door I like mine alot, but I wish I had the split passenger side mirror. I've got a stick-on round mirror on there right now.
Beaux Duke
Yeah, the split mirror is a nice touch on the drivers side. I'll probably get one of the stick on type to help when backing up and changing lanes.
