Bed Rail Caps

Recommended Posts

I see that GM Parts DIrect sells both rigid and flexible rail covers.  Since the rigid ones are almost twice as expensive as the flexible ones I am wondering if anyone here has either?  If so, which ones should I get.  I don't mind spending the extra if those are the ones I "need"  ;)  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

How much were those, Tom?

I am interested in those as well!

:)

Tobes got a good deal.  At the time I got them, I didn't know about all these "online" GM parts places, so I got raped at the dealer for about $165-170.  :lookaround:   Even though they were pretty exspensive for no more than what they are, I'd get them again, just at a different place.  :D   Or at least try to get a better price from my dealer.

Thanks Joe.  :)

Here's the rigid ones.  I love them and would buy them again.  They come with removable stake hole covers, that can be ordered seperately in case you were to lose one.

Tom -

Those look good.  Match the tailgate protector also.  I can't really tell from the pictures you posted, but do they cover the inside of the bed rail, or do they stop flush on the top?  The reason I ask is that I have a bed cover and don't think it would fit if the bed rail caps ran along the inside.

Another thing....how do they attach??  3M tape?

Firetiger(MN),

They do cover the inside of the bed rail.  Not sure how that will affect a bed cover.  ???

And they do attach with 3M tape.  The good, grey kind.  I ordered a set of Bushwacker caps before these, and was unhappy with them.  Sent them back the same day.  They used that cheap, white foam tape.  Since returning them, I've heard of a lot of other people having problems with the tape on the Bushwhackers not holding.  My GM caps have not had that problem.

Here's a link to a photo of the GM flexible covers like mine.  So far I'm pleased with them-they don't cover the sides as well as Tom's but they are thicker and offer more dent resistance:

Those sit just like my Wade covers. I have a soft tonneau on my truck and it sets just fine.
