locking gas cap

Anyone know where to get a locking gas cap?  With gas prices going up, you never know...

 

Also, the stock one is tethered to the body, would hate to have to snip it off.  Any ideas on that?

I've seen locking gas caps at auto parts stores like Advance Auto Parts and Auto Zone.  I think the ones I've seen were made by Stant.

 

I had one on my '91 and it tried to freeze up on me one time when I was home on leave in WV in the winter time.  I got it to unlock after a couple minutes, but never had any problem after that.  The door lock cylinders worked fine on that trip.  Only had the problem with the gas cap though.

Seen a few like what you described, would like to keep it tethered if possible, if not I'll be picking one up at Pepboys this weekend
