Replacement fog lights?

Recommended Posts

After having the tahoe with fog lights and not liking them, I bout the Silverado without them and added some "rally lights" from Meijer $29.99.  Great lights, much better than stock

IMO the factory foglights are worthless in the new body trucks.  Are there bolt in replacements?  I'd rather go that way rather than the expense of the PIAA air dam

Thanks

I"m new & don't have fogs - but do have a related question.

If I were to add them where would the wiring harness connector be.  Is there a connector on each side or just one?

I have also been considering trying to rewire the DRL lights to operate off the fog light wiring harness connector.

Or combining both options.

Any thoughts?  Experience?

Thanks.

PIAA makes a light can't remember the model number that will fit into the opening.  I measured the hole and it was something like 3"x6".  The light PIAA has is a dual fog and driving light that is approximately those same dimensions.  That was one of the first things I wa gonna change.

Our factory lights actually are bright and help, however, there are two problems with them;

A) The mounting.  It is a plastic bracket that is then fitted against the bumper (I think) with those silly plastic press fit fasteners.  Simply changing it to a bolt down and even making a steel bracket would fix things dramatically.

B) The drainage holes.  They're a little bigger than I like.  I've already blown the bulbs in mine from traversing through high water which got into the housing and exploded the bulbs.

Fix these two problems and our lights wouldn't be soo bad.
