At the risk of being flamed...I started a thread regarding door ding protection and I think everyone decided the best way to protect my tahoe was to park away from everybody and just live with it. An av owner suggested I trade in my 'hoe for an av...can't afford it, and really although I like the av it doesn't fit my lifestyle...so...here goes...!

Is there an aftermarked cladding for the tahoe similiar to the somewhat attractive although highly protective cladding on the Avalanch.

So, let me have it...I can take it!

At the risk of seeming frivolous - you could get a 6" suspension lift + body lift and big nerf bars - that will scare them away.

From time to time I have seen trucks with horizontal metal/rubber molding strips on the doors - don't know wether they were standard or addon.

I think the Escalade may have painted cladding on it. Something along that line may serve your purpose.

I've heard of people putting Herculiner on their nerf bars or rocker panels. Also, from the fine texture and sharp lines on the Line-X job on my son's truck, maybe that's a possibility.

Like to learn a little more about Line-X. Anybody have pictures, experience, procedures...etc. Don't want to raise the truck, nerf bars aren't an option...damn dirty door dings.

You could get line-x sprayed on it, it comes in a variety of colors, so you could get a two tone look while you're at it. Just make sure it's what you want because w/ spray on bed-liner, once it's there, it's there.

What about those rubber molding pieces that run along the side, I mean, they gotta do something.

Also have you ever thought about an auto sensing system that will take a large hammer and smash the car next to you if it feels a door get dinged

We need force fields like those on the alien ships in Independence Day. I don't like any option...latest...Line-X...too permanent...can't just "unbolt"...I guess I could just leave it parked in the garage (not). So, best option is park out yonder next to the beamer and the caddys I guess (they may object@!). My luck is usually parking next to a relatively nice vehicle only to come out and a beater has taken it's place!

I have the same problem. I just found the first dent on my truck the other day. It has a black smudge on it, so you can tell it's from some no good, f'in moron that decided opening his door an inch more was more important than someone else's expenisve truck.

I'm parking out as far as I can get now...
