Contemplating larger diam wheels

Contemplating larger diameter wheels for the 96. 16,17,18"?? How about speedo recalibration? I don't want to take out a 2nd morgage, any ideas? Used? Are there some good brands out there, high quality, low cost, should I forgetaboutit? Anybody with comments is appreciated!!

If you have 15s now, the 17s won't look too much bigger than stock. I'd say 18s or 20s, which are the next most common sizes where you will be able to have some choices in tires. If this is for a lifted type offroad use truck, then what I'm writing here might not make sense..

I have 18s now on my '95 but it's mostly a street setup. Be careful to get the right backspacing so the tires don't rub or stick out and it will look real nice. When going up in rim diameter, only the rims are bigger, and the smaller sidewalls of the tires make up the difference so the overall tire diameter stays close to stock so no calibrations are needed if you get the right ones. If you carry a lot of weight or use it for towing, you may want to consider all that when tire shopping as far as load capacity.

I have 285/60/18s on mine and I think the size is perfect at stock height, but if you plan on lowering in the future,(?) you may want to get something which will tuck up into the wheelwell and fender without rubbing. Mine are kindof wide and won't tolerate anything more than a 2 inch drop. Theres sites with tires and wheels for cheap. (mainly street stuff)http://www.victoriatire.com is one of them. I think in a 20 inch, a 295/50/20 or 305/45/20 is roughly equivalent to the overall diameter you can run, depending on what look you are going for. Check that tiresize calculator and for stock size use the optional larger size tire listed for that truck..I think it's a 265/75/16..but it should be okay to go a little bigger diameter as a baseline size without a problem. (with the right backspacing and rim width on the new ones) http://www.vulcantire.com has fairly cheap tire prices as well.

Did it come with 15s? I thought they all came with 16s, unless someone put on some 15 inch off road tires and rims..thats why Im a little confused.
