Motive Gear SUCKS!!!

Recommended Posts

This is the type of service we can expect from MOTIVE GEAR.

OnWednesday I emailed Motive Gear to inquire about some gears.

I wrote:

I have a 2001 chevrolet 2500HD crew cab 4x4 with the

8.1L and the Allison transmission.

I think I have the 14 bolt with 11.5" ring gear in the rear and the 9.25"

IFS in the front. I currently have 3.73 gears and am looking for 4.56. I

don't see the rear on your web site, do you have one for me?

Also under the 9.25" IFS front your site says the ring gear dia. is 8.875"

is this correct?

How about case breaks on the rear?

Thanks much!

Notice I asked 3 questions:

1) do you have gears for my application.

2) Your web site says a 9.25" IFS has a 8.875" ring gear - is this really correct?

3) at what ratios does the case need to be changed.

This is the reply I got:

Mike, Motive Gear is not currently producing gears for thr 11 1/2" GM yet.

Note he only answered one question. I am so sick and tired of crappy customer service!!!

So I wote him back and said:

This obviously pissed him off because he wrote back this:

Boy, I would have hated to see his response if you had asked a more technical question.  I don't see why he got so bent out of shape, it would have probably only taken about 5 minutes to get the answers to your question if he didn't already know them.

Thats BS.  Give me his Email, I'll tell him that by treating one of my fellow GM-Trucks.com members with such kindness he'll be happy to know hes not getting any business from at least 800+ people, which in turn we will send to Pickuptruck.com and ZR2.com, and any other vehicle enthusiast site we can think of.  And I'll tell him don't worry, We Will All Buy from Richmond..... :sneek:  :sneek:   :)

I was thinking, what if you had bought his product(s) and had a problem after the sale was completed?  Well, you, and the rest of us, won't have to worry about that, now!  Thanks for letting us know.
