Replacement of Torsion Bars

Recommended Posts

I've seen a couple of postings on here about replacing torsion bars to give increased front end height, however I haven't seen anything on how to do it.  I wanted to know how much work it takes to change out the regular 1/2 ton torsion bars and swap them with a set of 3/4 tons.  Does anyone know?

Here is the picture of the leveling kit that you asked me for.

FYI those new torsion bars are about ? a peice plus a new alignment ?-?. IMHO just save your money and get a body lift or a Rancho lift kit. I debated about doing the same thing, but for ? more I got the real thing. I had to wait and save some more money but I am glad that I did.

I agree, wait till you can do a lift.  Replacing the torsion bars is unnecessary.  The leveling kit from Hill simply allows you to turn up the clearence, which you can do with a socket for free!  I know turning the torsion bars is hot right now, I did it, but it rides like sh!t, compared to stock.
