Vent visors for side windows

Recommended Posts

I got them on but now I am having a problem with them not sticking to the truck all the way. Its stuck in a few spots at the ends, but the middle pops loose. Is there anything I can do to get them to stay stuck to the truck? They have been on for about a week now, if that makes a difference.

You must have gotten them on crooked or bowed a little bit. I would take them off and buy some new 3M tape. Body shops normally have the good tape.  There is a glue that 3M makes for situations like this, but I have tried it and it makes such a mess that it is easier just redoing the whole thing. When you put them on, start from the front and go back. Don't push the corners down first and then try to push down the middle. I had a little trouble with mine, but since I had to take them off for new rear windows I just never put them back on yet. Good luck and I hope this helps. :D

I'll try that tomorrow and see how it works. I have been sticking them back down and they hold for awhile, maybe 6-7 hours. Then they pop lose again. So, maybe they are still somewhat sticky. But, just in case. Can I get that tape at Autozone or the like?

Autozone or Advance should have the dbl sided foam tape.  You did swab the paint down with alcohol (not beer) first right?  If so then Roofer is right that you have them bowed.  try popping off the one corner and then push it down from the front to the rear.

That happened to me when I put the rear window louvers on my truck.. If its not completely even when you press it down it will pop up on the weak spots.. I left it and all that happened was water ate away the stickiness of the tape and they fell off... The accessory dealer took the blame for that one  :0  So they retaped it for nothing and when I put it back on with new tape it went on so perfectly that i couldnt get them off!

In the future try using the WeatherTechs from WeatherTech by MacNeil, they mount just inside the window track and need no adhesive.  They can easily be removed for cleaning and reinstalled in a couple of minutes.  Just for future reference.  I got tired of the stick on ones years ago.

ps: the WeatherTechs also make a much cleaner looking installation ( look like factory item ).
