Night vision

I saw a commercial for the Cadillacs Escalade EXT on tv last night.

It showed a heads up display night vision system.

How hard would it be to add to the Avalanche?

Does the Avalanche have the same wiring harness?

The "Overdrive" commercial was it?  The show the EXT first, then something about the only car with nightvision, which is the the Deville.  Sorry.  There was supposedly a prototype system on the Hummer H2.  That would be easier to adapt to an Avalanche since it's on the same platform.

Besides...the camera in the nose of the Deville is proabably over $1000!  And the HUD is probably another grand.  You really want to put that kind of money out to get night vision?  A set of HID lights would be better, but I don't think they are available for the Avalanche yet.

Heck for a few hundred dollars you could just buy a nice pair of night vision goggles (the kind you wear, not the scope type) and wear those while you drive   I am sure if you pratice enough you could do it.  hehe...hmmm...night-time off-roading...hehe.  I just my have to try that myself.
