Lund Steps ?

Curious as to what kind experiencies you guys have had with the Lund fiberglass steps.

I have a Silverado 2500HD 4x; my some what vertically challenged better half is getting a bit tired of the climb, and it will only get worse when I replace the factory 245s this spring.

The advantage I see (besides improved ease of entry) is that they might keep some crud off of the rockers and lower door panels with out the look of 2 tons of diamond plate running board hanging out, or "dick extender" nerf bars.

I am concerned about hanging them off the sheetmetal though. Will they hold up without distorting the rocker panels, and what about points of entry for moisture?

Also, has anyone had them coated with Rhino Liner instead of paint?

Your experiences, thoughts opinions and .02 cents appreciated.

I don't know if this is the same as what you are talking about but I've known a few people who have had the molded running boards on their truck and if you use them as a step instead of just having them as a decoration, there is a good chance that they will sag.

A buddy of mine has Lund steps on his Ranger. They seem to hold up pretty good, although he probably doesn't step on them. Only problem I ever saw in fiberglass steps is, offroading. If you bottom out they will shatter.

I thought though that they attach to both the frame and body???
