Exhaust

I have a Vortex single in dual out on mine. Muffler guy searched around and said it was the best for a deep sound, enough backpressure, and not too loud. I've heard the PV system on the net somewhere, it sounds awesome.

I had mine custom bent at an exhaust shop here in my hometown.  The guy did a great shop fitting everything, and the whole system is very solid.  Only problem is that he screwed me over on the tips he put on.  Told me specifically they would not rust, as I didn't want them if they would.  Guess what, about 3 months later they started rusting bad.  Needless to say, I won't be going back to him anymore.  Does sound good though.

I have a 40 series Flowmaster, single in/dual out,  muffler with chrome tips exiting the rear that I had a local muffler shop do.  I can't remember what size the inlet and outlets are on the muffler.  I'm really happy with it.  The 40 series is louder than I expected, but I like it.  If you don't like it loud, you can get a 50 or 70 series.  I think the 70 is the quietest.  I've heard some say it's not much louder than stock, but I've never heard one myself.

Yeah I had the same problem on my '93 sportside. That's why when I had mine done about 6 weeks ago I told them to dump the pipe at the back tires.

FLOWMASTER!!!!!:):):):):):):)

I went with the Flowmaster system if you couldn't tell.  I love it.  The best part are the tips.  It doesnt' have "tips" on it.  The last three feet of the tubes are stainless steel.  I have had it a year and there is no rust on the S.S. portion.  Best part is, they aren't tips. Did I already mention that?  It is just that I hate walking up behind a great looking car or truck with 3 in exhaust only to look at it from the side and see a small pipe and a big tip.:( It is kind of like fart pipe for a fullsize.

As defined by good 'ol boys (anybody that owns a truck or cool car) across the country:

Fart Pipe: n 1. A 3 in exhaust tip found on any ricemobile that has convinced the owner that he has just added 15hp to his car by installing it. ex. Did you see that geek with the civic with the fart pipe?  He actually thought he was cool!! (usually followed by hysterical laughter)  example:

(notice the second wing, although this does not show the fart pipe, it is a perfect example of rice)

2. A nearby pipe that a frat boy feels the need to fart on to impress his buddies.

I will put the Borla on my truck... maybe this summer...  I had it on my last truck (sorry but it was a 5.4 triton).  I liked the sound (not too loud) and it was a very good looking system.  They are a little pricey but I know what I had and I liked it so I'm gonna do it again.  I'd like to get a few more miles on the truck before I do any intake/exhaust mods, and at the rate I'm putting miles on that may be awhile...  4 1/2 months old and there is 1750 miles showing!!!  (and I put 150 on last weekend!)
