Flowmasters

Recommended Posts

I am putting a cat back system on my truck next week. I have a 98 Z71. I need to decide between dual 40 series flowmasters or one dual in dual out 50 series. I see a lot of guys for the loudest truck possible, but I want the best all around sound. Nothing too loud, but I want people to know I am there. Will the dual 40 be really loud and has anyone had either of these systems. Thanks

I put the duel 40 on mine & it sounds great. A friend said it sounds like nascar. The size of the pipes & tips will also make a difference. It could even be louder for my taste. There is interior residence at 1700 rpm , it doesn’t bother me but I can see where it might bother others.  For what you are looking for I agree with yZR2k.  I have heard that some who have put the delta on wanted a little more sound, others think it is perfect. It’s hard to make a choice with out hearing it 1st.

OK, I'm sure some are gonna think I'm nuts but I put a 70 Series Delta Flow 2 in, 2 outon my '01 Xcab.  The truck has been lowered which makes it noisier inside to begin with.  There is a little interior resonance even with this one but very nice.  The exterior is very mild & only gets noticed when you really step on it.  Personally, I like the low & deep rumbly sound this muffler provides.  The exhaust guy just hated it because he said you couldn't even here it.

My wife really likes it.  It does make road tripping with her & the 4yr old no big deal.
