Chappy,

I deleted your post on "Mechanical Work and reprinted it here.

That pinned topic wasn't really designed to help with diagnostics.

Welcome to the forum!

I have a 98 1500 5.7L.  I just replaced the fuel pressure regulator using Helms manual.  Fuel pressure is now back to normal, but I feel a slight resistance at my gas pedal during take-off.  It causes the truck to jump a little.  The throttle moves smoothly with ignition off-but has slight drag upon energizing sysstem.  Looked at TB sensor. but don't think this is it.  Could air intake have anything to do with this?  Truck is running great-just a little annoying in stop and go or at start up.

That's a strange one, allright.

I'd look all over the TBI reall close and try to see if there is anything on the throttle cable that is getting blocked on ignition turn up. You may have to get an assistant to turn the key on and off for you so you can look closely at what's happening.

Maybe a fast idle cam or bracket is out of adjustment or bent, or possibly something with th throttle position sensor.

I don't really have any good ideas, just guessing.

I can't see the TPS being the problem here.  All it does is tell the fuel injector how much fuel to shoot per how far it is being opened.

Does this only happen when it's cold?  Could be that the system is trying to "choke" itself by keeping the throttle closed.
