241 t-case connector swap?

Recommended Posts

I found a t-case for my truck, but the only difference seems to be the front shaft connector. Does anyone know if this coupling can just be changed over or does the whole t-case shaft  need to be changed over? The replacement one (top pic) appears to be longer than mine now, but I can't tell for sure. They are both 241c, 27 spline. (I don't have the new one yet, just this picture so I want to get some feedback before I buy it. Heres the new one

I beleive you can swap your connectors.  Simply looking at the later pictures with the U-joint style connectors, I would presome that bolt there someway is responsible for removing that piece.  Can you get a pic down the center of the one you want to buy?  If it also has an exposed nut, I'd think it can be swapped.

Yea, I figured I could just swap them, but from the pics, it looked like the round flange tcase had a longer shaft, unless the nut was really recessed in there pretty deep. Anyways, I didn't get it. It was on ebay with a "buy now" price of $365 and someone scooped it before I could get it.

I hate E-Bay.  It seems as though anything I want, the reserve hasn't been met yet.  :D

Anyway, I only worked on a few 4x4's in terms of replacing transfer cases but I think they used that one throughout the trucks lineup and as such I know for a fact they used various u-joint couplers, so they have to be switchable.
