How good it the Chevy Synthetic fluid?

Just wondering how good the Chevy synthetic transmission fluid is that comes with our newer trucks. Is it something that should stay in, or should we switch to another brand when the time comes?

I would think it is good. I generally run all GM fluids in my truck and van for 2 reasons. The first reason is I'd rather have the dealer do the work instead of me having to crall under the truck. And the second reason, is that all work done (even the oil changes) is documented on the dealers computer so there would never be any issues if warranty work was needed for a catastrophic failure.

There are alot of guys here that swear by the aftermarket fluids though, and I'm sure they'll give you their $.02 worth.

the tranny has synthetic in it :0 my truck came from the dealer a quart low so i put in a quart of merkon(something)/dextron III as the stick said to did not know it took synthetic

eek what is the best replacement????

I thought it smelled kinda funny not burnt but not like normal ATF I figured that is what new tranys smell like (my first one)
