Between 1880 and 1940 Hundreds of thousand emigrants (perhaps some millions) passed by Cherbourg and embarked aboard similar boats to join the earth of freedom and build a better world.... Your world !

June 19 1864 CSS Alabama Was poured by USS Kearsarge In front of Cherbourg. The CSS Alabama is a cemetery now, you can not see his wreck.

Nice pictures!
