Got The New Diablo The Other Day

Recommended Posts

After waiting for a current update on the new preditors SLP finaly shiped my new one, wow not bad, i still have to do some logging and re adjust my fuel trims but i like the way they have this shifting, alot better than i had on my old preditor. I just never had a chance to full proff my tunning cuz mine got stolen..arrrgg. Anyway this worked out for me cuz that way SLP already had this same set of add ons put together with a dyno tune. So this was easier than re-doing another tune, cuz im lazy like that. The truck shifts alot better and so far doing pretty good, Defently a recomend for anyone thinking to buy one of these, but check your mods they work for Headers,CAI,exaust wich fit me good, minus my long tubes but not that much differance. As promised before i finaly figured out how to load my data from my g-tech and will have that up here soon too, you will actually be able to see a graph of what the engines doing as im driving , realy cool actually.

well come to think of it i did run up the track with the previous preditor and with no bottle hooked up and only on current mods...the 2 runs i got before things got packed 16:4, then a 16:2 so progressively getting better but i had a shift issue imbetween 1st and second...rpms went up then gradually shifted into 2nd, by my Gtech controller im loosing about 20-30hp just changing gears. So now i got to log with my new unit and see how it works. so far the unit shifts alot better than i had set the original preditor. If i get this one doing good im hoping for the 15's bracket on just current mods.

See i bought another truck ( a s dime, as im talking about in the compact truck forum) that i plan on doing a v8 install , so im going to need this truck to do some pulling to the track and every now and then bust some hemi's ass along the way, or some titans. that would be fine to me.

Interesting, I too had that 1-2 shift issue, but with my old Flashpaq. They couldn't fix it and/or thought there "wasn't a problem." Then got the custom tune, also same issue. So I sent it back to have it fixed, and no issue since then. Not sure what he did to fix it, although it does sound like something TM would mess with.

But let us know how it does with the new tuner.

Yeah mike you know me as "worm" on your site, and sorry if im a pain in the butt, but i get fluster sometimes and dont know where to start, knowing that i can make a bad ass truck with this tunner i just need some time to mess with it. All aside i do appreaciate all the help you and 06monte ss have given me.

Omegafilter, as you know from about a month ago or so i had done some logging on my g-tech and never got it up for you all to see it...anyways here it is hopefully you all can see this and it isnt a big file,..just a screen shot.

this is my old programmer U7193 with current mods , no nitrous hooked up. runs work as follows

Blue run: current mods, stock z71 tires..265-75-16 no fuel dialed in.

Red run: current mods, 33" tires, fuel dialed in, trany shift points altered alittle..not very good

Green run :current mods, 33"tires, fuel dialed in, trany changed again, tqmgt out...and i ran out of road.

you will get the point by looking at the differant screens but one is hp and tq vs time other is just hp vs time.

hope this is interesting to everyone, as you can see i have lots of work to do to change this truck..lol

Yeah not too bad, remember these numbers are mesured as net hp/tq..wich are a little less than crank and more than rear wheel or something like that, feel free to correct me if im wrong. but thats what gtech said if im not mistaken.

The funny thing is that when i went to the track the times i was running mentioned earlier were right about on the money of my track time..Just to prove how accurate this little thing is.

But this is a huge help with tunning, since i dont have a dyno i can see what the truck is doing in each gear and how efficaint it is.

The numbers really do look close to what I've seen on dyno charts with similar setups. It's at least well within the ball park.
