Sup,

New to the board glad to be here, I am just wondering how much HP you all think my truck has, it is a 2001 5.3 liter, I have a trueflow air intake, magnaflow exhaust and a W4me PCM tune. I have about a $$500.00 budget for my truck are there any other mods that will get me some reliable HP for that little?? thanks allot in advance. KO

Maybe 15 more rwhp than stock, so I'm guessing 255~ rwhp. Hard to tell. You can get a set of Pacesetter Long tube headers and a Y pipe which bolts into your cat back for $500~. It would be a good mod if you didn't have emissions testing or an inspection.

Only 255? I've heard that the stock 5.3 can put out 285-295 hp. Is that not rw-measured horsepower?

no, that's at the crank. with the bolt on you have i would say like above 15 tops. depending on the tune you have, 89-93 octane, some of the more reputable tuners are average about 30 hp at the wheels. i would guess with your bolt ons and tune about 15-20 rwhp... sorry.

Man you can pick up a set of Shorty Headers for 269.99 that will increase your horsepower up to 10 percent and is a good upgrade. After that just upgrade your plugs and wires and a good full synthetic oil change (I go with 0-40 royal purple) and you will tell a great difference then.
