I have a wait4me which is a solid tune for only a 150 bucks, but I would look into a blackbearperformance tune for around 200. He sends you a data logging hand held and records your vehicle while you drive it then he makes the tune more customized on this data.

Seriously dude the 8.1's on LPFI could match the diesels down low. I had numerous stoplight encounters with flatbeds/tow trucks with the duramax and the catapillar diesel and I could stomp them off the line. On the highway it was a different story I didn't have much up top. My greatest moment ever was taking a geo metro by a car length. Mind you I was 26,000gvw and weighed in at the truck scale loaded at 18K.

Javier, you could look into boring it and adding some cubic inches. Oh wait, 496 CI's can't get much bigger n at son.

Bowtieman81 - I'm 99% sure Doug/Thorley makes a set of long tube headers for the 8.1. I've always heard excellent things about the quality and durability of Thorley headers. With a set of long tubes and a nice PCM tune I'll bet that big block wakes up...not that it's not already a beast.

You could also add a high revving cam and get 1000hp if you want...

Thanks for all the advise fellas. I think i might go with the cam because i still use it to tow trailers.
