Whats The Advantage?

I've been checking out prices for duel exhaust. I can get one muffler with two outlets for $260. or true duels (two mufflers) for $490. Would I be able to tell that much diffrence either way? Its the same price for flowmasters or magnaflows.

I'd check with your local muffler shop and see if they have any dual-in/dual-out mufflers with built-in crossovers (to help equalize pressure between the two pipes). It seems like the dual-in/dual-out with built-in crossovers should be cheaper than two separate mufflers and having to have an x-pipe or crossover pipe.

Single inlet dual outlet mufflers work really well on these trucks. Great sound. You'll lose a little bit of low end torque and gain a little mid and high rpm power if it is like most of the others here. No advantage to going with a dual muffler setup. It's more complex and more expensive but it ends up sounding about the same - plus- without a crossover pipe it will pop like hell when you back off of it.

 

I vote for single in dual out.

You should be able to get a single-in, dual-out muffler welded in there along with some custom bet pipes after it...For under $200.

 

Add $40 for the whistle-tip to go wooooWOOOOOO!

Does putting tips on change the sound that much?

I have been told that the tips effect the sound. I have not heard the differences first-hand, though.

i had and 80 gmc with true 2 1/4 duals and i added 3" "boom tubes" and it made the truck sound a million times better, very deep aggresive sound they were only 18 inches long and 3" diameter and were chrome slash cut tip so they looked good too!!
