10 Inch Lift Kit For 2007 1500 Crewcab Nbs

Recommended Posts

Don't put anything bigger than 35's on it. Anything bigger will start to eat through front end components (ie balljoints, tierods, CV's, etc.). This will not only cost you lots of repair bills down the road, but it is dangerous for you, and those driving around you. If a balljoint or CV fails when you're going down the highway, you're pretty much screwed, and chances are you might take someone else off the road with you. Here's some examples of what can happen:

Balljoint failure, 37" tires

Not sure all what's broken in this one, but it looks like lower balljoint, tie rods, and CV. Also on 37's.

This one was a busted CV axle, only running 35" tires.

Well Cognito fixes all that. But for a hefty price. I priced a 8 inch lift the other day with them, with the options that would prevent that and I hit about 7K just for the suspension system.

Wow. :( For 7K, get rid of the d**n IFS and swap in a dana 60 front an a 14 bolt FF rear.

I agree cause the cognito front end cross member is hideous. And the IFS isn't that strong at that height, right?

thanks for the heads up, im definitely not going with the body lift now!! i was also looking at cognito but they dont make a lift for my truck yet but i talked with whiplash and they had one for my truck for 2,750 for the 10 inch. the only problem i have now is finding someone here in new york to put it on. do you think i would be able to fit 38's with no trimming or should i go 37x13.5x20? thanks guys.

Read my above post. Anything over 35" will wreak havoc on your suspension.

are you referring to the tire size or what the body lift will do to my truck? i am concerned what effect both would have on my truck.

I'm referring to tire size. The larger tires add a lot of weight and stress to the suspension components. When installed correctly, bodylifts have really no downsides, other than that they show the frame more. They do nothing to affect the suspension, all it does is lift the body off the frame.

A body lift wont hurt your truck. Tires that big you will be asking for trouble, leave big tires to solid front axles. Big suspension lifts on ifs trucks are nothing but street queens, any little bit of hard offroading and you will be towed out. Why have the look if its good for nothing and is much like having a Corvette with 4 cylinder in it.

Instead of doing a body lift, do the total chaos upper control arms and a spacer. im doing that to my existing fabtech 7 inch lift. i have a 07 nbs gmc and im going to run 35 toyo m/ts and have 9 inches of lift without a body lift. Its cheaper to go this route than a body lift. Also much easier on suspension.

right now i have the fabtech 6 inch, how do i tell if i have the total 6 inch lift? also what you are saying is that the upper control arms and spacer will give me 2 more inches of lift for a total of 8 inches? what kind of spacer are we talking about here, im new to the truck thing but wanting to know all i can before i oreder the whiplash 10 inch. thanks bro

hey josh what lift kit do you have on your truck, if it is a fabtech then it is 7 inches they say 6 but its 7 and thats the one i have on mine. im going to use a 1.5 or 2 inch readylift spacer, upper control arm gives more travel allowing more room to put a spacer or aftermarket coilovers which are expensive so im going the cheap route because my truck will never go offroad. thats why i have a jeep. if you have any questions hit me up.

i have a fabtech that was put on by the dealership here in ny. i would be able to get 9 total inches of lift without having to do a body lift? if thats the case then i would rather do that then spend the 2 grand for the whiplash. thanks for your help any other ideas or suggestions would be great.

hey josh we both have the same set up so get the total chaos upper control arms, i think they are about $600 and spacer $200 at max readylift is the best. and that should give you 9 inches, lot cheaper than body lift and also i did some research last night about the whiplash and read too many cons about it. hit me up if you need anything else.
