More Parts On The Way...

Holiday sales have an interesting way of reshuffling ones priorities.

HSWKIT.jpg

It's a HSW Sudden Impact Single Nozzle Wet Nitrous Kit (LSx). It's not a complete kit, I'll still need in order to "safely" run this stuff a bottle heater, purge kit, rpm window switch, and a fuel pressure safety switch. That way the bottle has good pressure, won't spray through the shifts and result in me posting 4L60E carnage pics, and overall have a safe system. I still need to get a re tune, shift @ 6300/6400 rpm, need NGK TR6 cold plugs etc. I figure with a re tune I should be in the 14.2's, with this kit I should be in the mid/low 13's, I don't plan on going over 100hp shot. Probably spray from 3000rpm - 6000rpm for safety of my G80 and tranny. By buying parts in need at a later date for an event at the drag strip I'm eliminating the need to rush modding and getting everything set up now.

Here's the link if your interested in what the kit comes with. The sale ends very soon. If it's not allowed mods remove it, I understand their not a supporting vendor.

Wow. Thats insane. You'll have to post pictures of the install. Where you plan on keeping the bottle?

Will do, I'm doing the install either in the garage or my buddies garage, probably my buddies he's got tons of tools and hes great with electronics/wiring etc. And that's the majority of the install, wiring and plumbing. He's a big motor head too, but he's into the imports. Either way the both of us should be able to knock it out pretty easily with a few beers in a few hours. The bottle is going to be behind the passenger seat, as thats the only place I have room for inside the cab.

GLad to see another bottle in a truck....lol thats great. I would also recomend you do the install yourself...someone told me a long time ago that some things are better if done yourself. I wish i would of waited and did my install my self. I had to have mine done kinda quick cuz im inpateint so i now want to clean things up to make them look cleaner. But nothings of huge concern of gettin mesed up.

you said your runing 14's now with your new tune thats awsome, and with nitrous i bet you got every bit of 13's. Im only runing a 75 shot right now, i have to change fuel pump and maybe injectors to bigger ones if i want to run 100 shot....does that sound right or just a percusion thing? Im hoping to get my truck down to a diablo dealer to run a custom tune to allow for nitrous ill find out after the holidays.

I always do all my own work, well the work I can do. You get to learn a lot of things, and you know exactly what is where, and what is what. I'm running 14.7's on my old tune, should be in the 14.2's after a re tune, and idk, 13.3's on a 100 shot. I have a different fuel system than you, I have a return style and you have a returnless, but either way it depends on the injectors which might be the same size, but I'd think your good for 100 shot.

I've been adding up all the here and there parts I need, and it's adding up! Fuel pressure safety switch, window switch, bottle heater, nitrous filter, purge kit, NHRA fitting/tube...$550 I'll never see again. :D But it does have it's advantages over regular forced induction. Atmosphere in a bottle, basically an intercooler, super cheap horsepower, only used when needed, doesn't effect daily driveability or economy, and easy to hide.

You need to stall that thing too.

Oh...Congrats on the parts too! cheers.gif

I know! I wasn't even planning on doing this until Summer maybe, but I came across that deal. I was going to pick up a Yank 3000 or a Trail Blazer TC after I found a daily driver.

Why would a stall make your truck any less of a daily driver?

btw- GET TEH HP TUNERS NOW PLZ! quit gettin this other crap you cheater! :D

:D No no no I want a daily driver to drive daily when essential drive train parts on my truck are in multiple pieces all over the road. Also to keep miles off the truck, and allow mod time on truck to be greater than Friday night thru Sunday night! Some things I want to do to the truck take longer than a weekend to do!

I still can't believe I ordered a nitrous kit...

I think the solution to the tuning deal is this: ship my factory PCM to Wheatly or something and have him tune it for the spray - factory timing, 6300 rpm shift, factory torque management lol, yada yada, and when I get HP Tuners re flash my W4M PCM and start a whole new all motor tune. Or get the bottle filled at the dyno and have them tune the stock PCM for the spray, idk. I'm just glad to have 2 PCMs!
