Cold Air Intake - Which One For 6.2?

Hello everyone! I've been reading and researching for the past few days (great site, by the way) and I'm having a hard time finding any performance upgrades for the 6.2 (L92) engine. It seems that everything usually stops at the 6.0 for some reason. I've been looking at exhausts on the different manufacturer websites and haven't found anything. Same goes for programmers. Is there a reason that the 6.2 is lacking in upgrades? What am I missing? Anyways, I saw this cold air intake on GMPartsDirect.com (http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm?s...number=17800809) and was wondering a few things:

1) Does it fit? (<---The obvious question.)

2) If it does, is it any good?

3) If not, are there any recommendations that anyone is willing to make?

I'm all ears! Please educate me!!!

Side Note: The truck is 6 days old and it's my first-ever GM product. I've been a Ford guy all of my life (my whole family and business fleet, too), but they lost me this last time around when my truck kept going into service for many different reasons and they repeatedly chased their tails, which left me without a truck each time for days on end. It got so bad that I questioned why they even called it the "Service Department" because there just wasn't any. To finish my boring story, my family is watching my defection closely. I hope to start a trend, but unfortunately it hasn't started well. I need to take the truck back for the leaking oil TSB and the squeaking window TSB. Let's see how the GMC's service department compares to that of the Ford.

Oh, and thank you all in advance for your time and efforts!

Michael,

Thank you for the link. I'll look into it for sure. By the way, nice truck! I love the dual exhaust you have. I noticed that it was a "custom" job. Unfortunately, it seems like that's the only way we're going to get anything for the Denalis.

Thanks again,

Victor

Yeah, I looked around for a cats-back system, but didn't have much luck. I found one setup from Corsa that did dual exhaust tips out the back and didn't require the spare tire to be removed (like GM's cat-back system w/ dual exhaust tips). But, even with that, it started after the two pipes from the two cats had come together.. and it was a lot more expensive.

Thanks for the complements. People have been asking for sound clips or video files. I finally got a camcorder a few days ago. Unfortunately, it's getting dark in North Texas at around 5PM these days.. I'll try to get out this weekend and get something posted. I haven't had a camcorder since the mid-90's and I've never edited video on a computer. So, this will all be a new adventure! :sigh:

Oh, boy! Video editing? Get ready to test the limits of your PC!!! Like everything else, you'll get the hang of it. Once you do, let me recommend Pinnacle Studio. I've found it to be one of the easiest and most powerful video editing programs out there (and I've gone through a few).

Regarding the audio clip, if it sounds half as good as it looks, well, you know what I mean. It really does look very professionally done. I'd love to end up with a sweet looking exhaust job like yours whenever I get mine done. Enjoy!

I started looking for intake and exhaust for 08 sierra denali and found the same result. No one makes anything for the sierra denali (because its a rare truck and they wont make enough money off the sales). I ended up modifying the stock exhaust by cutting it off just behind the muffler and putting on a stainless down facing tip. I sound better, no too loud. My local exhaust shop recomended magnaflow exhaust and what ever pipe configuration I wanted.

I did find some answers after talking to Canepa desighs (Canepa produces high end performance mods specializing in GM). Canepa said the denali comes so tunned from the factory to get the 403hp that you wont get much gains from intake, chip, and exhaust mods. You wont see the large gains most stock trucks get because they are so choked down (stock exhaust on the denali is 3.5"). Canepa likes superchargers, but I didn't need 500hp for 8k.
