Volant Vs Outlaw

Read alot and narrowed it down to these 2 closed box intakes, im not sure what one to pull the trigger on but am i looking at much differance between the 2? And can i get a couple real life reviews?

You have chosen 2 excellent intakes to choose from, you can't go wrong with either one. Outlaw is cheaper @ $250 shipped, it has a non oiled dry filter which is washable. Outlaw put lots of R&D into their unit, that combined with the price swayed me to go in their direction. Volant is also a great intake system. For the extra money you pay, the volant looks very nice under the hood, very high class.

Both have options for ram air set ups. Volant sells a ram air kit for around $100. Outlaw doesn't sell a kit to my knowledge, but has a large hole in the bottom of the air box for ram air set ups like the volant. Here's a pic of mine.

VVVVVV That lip is a good 3~ inches long, perfect for sliding some pipe over and clamping down on.

Outlaw. There's a dyno chart floating around here somewhere that shows a 7-10hp increase at 3K rpms compared to stock and the volant intakes.

I have the Volant, because i liked the way it looked over others, the GMPP looks nice too. Not sure if I really noticed an increase, 7-10hp isn't really anything to feel on a big truck, but it sounds good. A nice low growl when you step into it, sounds mean. I'm happy with it, but also haven't tried any others. I got it from TByrne at a good price, I found it for the lowest price I could online, then they pricematched -10 or 15%, whichever it says on their site. I believe I also got free shipping.

I have the GMPP CAI, installed at the dealer. More $$$s, but I liked the look more than the Volante (just my opinion though---it's subjective).

Ditto... howls and sounds nasty fer-sure. I can't guesstimate a HP increase, but the seat-of-my-pants dyno seemed to indicate more than I originally expected.

The two dorks in the rice burner with the fart-can ducked their head when I hit it and turned up the intake volume and drove away from them like they were standing still...
