got 285's?

I'd like to see some pics of trucks with 285's  If you have before and after pics that would be great.  Just came into a little money and I'm thinking I might be getting 285's

What size did you have before?

What brand did you get?

Why did you decide on that brand?

Any problems fitting the 285's with or w/o T-bar crankin'?

Thanks much

I see.

Well, here is my stock size tires (265/75R16's) on the stock rims, with my body lift.

Hope that helps.  :D

As far as the dealer reprogramming, from what I understand, they can only reprogram for certain sizes, and 285/75-16's is not one of them.  ???   I'm not sure if the sizes they can reprogram to are only the stock sizes, or what.  But I think some others have tried that and the dealer told them they couldn't do it, and could only reprogram up to 265's.

You could get a Hypertech Power Programmer III to reprogram for tire size, and lots of other stuff.  There are some other items that can be bought to reprogram tires size, but I don't think any of them do as much as the HPP III.

Good luck.

BTW, there are some more pics in the link in my sgnature.  :)

I put 285's on my truck after putting only 2000 miles on the stock 265.  I ran into a deal and traded the tires straight up.  I've got 285/75/16 Bridgestone Dueler AT's on it and the truck looks a million times better.  Plus I got them to fit without any modifications.

Ooops. Looks like the compair function is not working. I will try to get it fixed.

Hey John, I just checked it out, and it was working for me.  Let me know if it still isn't for you.

Tom,

It is working for me now. I must not have given my rapid internet connection time to download.

2000LTZ71, what is the benefit of the Yokohama Geolander AT+2 tires over the 285 BFG's. Why did you decide on that tire instead? Just curious. I'm looking at getting 285 myself and was wondering what tire to get.

Thanks all.  Definitely going with 285's just gotta figure in the cost of reprogramming the computer.  with the 4.8L engine I don't have the power to spare to turn the extra meat without telling the computer about it.

I like the Geolanders too but I have trouble putting rubber called Yokohama on my American metal.  :)

They are cheap though.  hhhmmmmm
