Computer Re-tunes On Handled Programmers

I have heard of people sending of handheld programmers to companies that re-tune PCMs and having them load a full tune(even 2 or 3 diff. tunes) on the handheld and send it back. Then you can load it on your truck. And have no downtime, dont have to remove the stock computer, and can change it whenever you want. I would like to do this with my truck perhaps get a max tune, gas mileage tune, and tow tune. Then I could switch b/t tunes whenever I wanted kind of like diesel programmers. I would like to know the details of this and what programmers you can do it with and what companies will load there tunes on handhelds?????

I was originally planning on going with a westers custom tune but wanted to keep my stock PCM but you have to send a core or pay a fee, and I couldnt get a straight answer on sending back a diff. core, like one from ebay. Also doing a tune this way you dont have to worry about a getting a PCM re-learn, like some suggest. Any other helpful input is appreciated.

Jesse is just plain slow, when I talked to him he does stuff when he feels like it, hence wait4me is wait 4 me to feel like it. At least he's cheap compared to the others. Swapping the PCM is a pain in the rear.

Sounds like the Wait4Me tunes on a SCT Tuner is just what you're looking for! Now, do you have the patience to wait for Jesse to the SCT Hand Helds in? I didn't! LOL!

Author has an '03 and I have an '06. I thought the delay was for the GMT900's only.

I got the SCT from Wait4Me, 3 custom tunes, works great. I actually got mine in about a week and he seemed to have plenty in stock at the time. Also have to keep in mind that he is the only one that does the tuning - so you may want to ask what his backlog is at the time of your order. I'm also sure that allows him to have low overhead so he can provide us with such low prices. :)

And from what I heard, I think the SCT delay you are refering to is for the GMT-900's only. I'd give him a call though (his wife will answer sometimes.) If you get a busy signal, try again!

Yeah, I talked to her on the phone she's really knowledgeable about the tunes herself.
