07 Pcm Tune (nbs)

Recommended Posts

I can t find any tune that eleminates the TM in a 07 NBS. Not Diabalo, not sct excaliber. Not even a custom tune. Can anyone??? I spoke to Diabalo and they said a tune is available but will not reduce the TM in the current tune. Had a PCMforless tune and it s not much better. HELP! :chevrolet:

Im impressed you got a hold of diablo, I couldnt. Anyway, they have it for other vehicles, and they have internet updates, so im sure that it will be available at sometime. Did you speak with anyone at Wait4me, Im not sure if they got the torque mgmt figured out yet.

Check with Edge, I just installed the Edge Evolution on my truck this afternoon, and it saves and writes files to both the PCM and the TCM, so they may have broke the code. Also, before I installed the tune on my truck, I connected it to my computer and did an on-line update. One of the new features was support for the 6-speed transmissions! So, it looks like they may be a bit a head of the rest of the hand-held manufacturers. I just posted a new topic on it with pics in this thread...

I know people are going to say that the hand helds aren't as good...but I went with the super chips flashpaq...they say on the 91 tune it takes out 75% of T.M. It was raining yesterday and I gunned it from a role coming off an exit and the truck got side ways...haven't had that happen before the tune. I would say that although I'm not dissapointed tuning from a N/A motor just isn't very impressive. I don't care where you get the tune from these motors aren't going to make very much more power no matter who tunes it.

I don't want any "more" power per se, I just want what's there!!! I don't want TM to tell me when I can have it and when I can't. I will not get a tune until I know I get to manage TM myself. I don't even want to remove all of it, it is a good thing, in moderation. GM just overdid it IMO.

With the new, new, new trucks........... Believe it or not theres a bit more to that turdly feeling in the truck than TM. The ETC and TAC module play a big part in that. Im speaking of how fast the TAC module opens the TB blade in relation to pedal location. Its SLOW and cant be changed much if at all.

I spoke with Edge today and asked about the Torque Management and they said they don't mess with it. They also said there are other thing that come into play along with TM that they can't control, so from a safety standpoint and to preserve the warranty they chose not to mess with it. He did say that the main complaint he's heard from folks is the inability to spin the tires!

I guess I just feel tires are too expensive, and I don't want my tires spinning anyway, so if that's what TM does for me, I'm happy! My truck feels fine when I get on the highway; step on it and it goes, no hesitation, crisp shifts without delay, and for me, ample passing power! Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe this TM is just way more aggressive in the 6.0, but I like how my truck handles now with the Edge installed!

When I first got my truck I noticed the TM right away, It almost feels like how a turbo feels, you give it gas, and it doesnt go anywhere until 3-4 seconds later, then you can feel the truck take off. If the TM wasnt there, you'd have that power from the beginning, thats what we're talking about with the tires spinning. I dont necessarily want to do burnouts, but off the line power would be nice.

Gotcha! I haven't noticed it on my truck, I guess I need to pay more attention. I'm not one to make jack rabbit starts from stop lights, that's probably why I haven't noticed it as much. Besides, my reaction time is probably close to 3-4 seconds so by time I do "get on it" TM has probably come and gone! LOL!

With my edge on the performance setting it will squeel a tire with the traction control off. It spins them over a little and when it goes into 2nd gear it chirps them. The hesitation is gone. I am satisfied with it and when you call edge you get to speak with a person and they have always been nice and informative when I called. The edge in my opinion has so many cool features. Very few companies have the deal that they have- tuner, monitor, and pod for custom fit on dash for less than $450.

Once again though the 5.3 has a lot less holding it back then the 6.0 does.

The 6.0 definatly has way more TM than the 5.3's. at least with a 5.3 you don't really expect too much from them, but when you pay the extra for a 6.0 and they claim 367 hp you expect it to be able to smoke the tires off the rims in a flash. I ordered my truck before there were any NBS 6.0's on the lot but I've driven the 5.3 before so I expected it to be way faster than the old body style 5.3's and their not!!! If I knew that this truck was going to be such a dog I would have never gotten it!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED IN G.M.
