Computerized To Non Computerized Ignition

Have a 1985 5.0 c10 pickup. Need to replace the distributor. The truck has an ecm box in it behind the glove box.

The question I have is can I use a non computerized distributor and by-pass the ecm box by jumpering the A and C pins on the ecm plug?

Have you ever tried to run the truck without the ecm hooked up?? It's probably there just as a monitoring system anyway.

 

My suggestion would be to get an MSD ignition and totally eliminate the ECM all together.
