New Muffler.

Recommended Posts

I bought a base 40 series and wasn't that satisfied with it. With the stock exit pipe it didn't sound good at all. I got it dumped and it sounded much better, but it still doesn't compare the the setup I have now.

I have a 3" dump under the bed with no muffler, I have never heard a newer body style 1500 sound anything like it.

Thats gotta sound like the world is coming to an end...awesome.

I want mine to rumble a little at idle and cruising but be pretty aggressive at WOT. I was going to get a magnaflow cat back...but I heard that they still sound pretty stock.

I was also thinkng about dumping it out the back, 70's Trans Am style, but I dont think the exhaust would have the velocity at that point to make much diff. I may put cutouts on when I do the headers though.

Oh and specs:

* 4" x 9.75" x 13" Case

If you are getting this swap done at a shop, ask them to let you hear it while you system has no muffer on, you may just change your mind. I can't say for sure how it sounds with any other setup, but with the 3 inch dump it sounds amazing.
