Just purchased a GMC 2500HD

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a slightly used GMC 2500HD 2wd Extended cab from the local bank.  It was repo'ed with only 3 payments being made. It is equiped with the 5sp standard shift tranny and the 6.0 engine with 4.10 gears.

Anyway... it is in need of tires.  The back currently has 285/75/16 and the front stockers 245/75/16.

Those tiny front tires have got to go.  Will the 285's fit on all the way around or should the front's go to maybe a 265?

Anything you want to tell me about the truck that maybe I don't know. I have just had it a couple of days.

I purchased it to haul my URL=http://www.neto.com/speedshop/james.htm]Z-28[/url] to and from the track.

Thanks a lot... I really like the truck so far, but it is taking some time to get used to driving, especially parking it in tight places. :o

This thing is freaking huge compared to driving my Camaro and the clutch is so much easier to push than the Camaro.

3 payments? Geez, I wonder what happened there. Did you get a good price? If the interior is as clean as the exterior that could potentially have been one heck of a deal. Congrats.

285's will fit fine. I'm running Nitto Terra Grapplers in that same size, and haven't had a single problem. Performance takes a little hit, but I'm thinking about changing the exhaust and intake to get it back. :D

Yep the interior is like new also. There is a small ding on the drivers side front fender about the size of a nickel.

The bank showed me the sticker where it stickered for roughly $28,500 and he paid roughly $26,500 and put $10,000 cash down.  With that big down payment the bank didn't lose money, so that is why they could make a good deal on it.

I was able to pick it up for $18000. I did a little research and this seemed to be a good price for a used 2001 and this was a 2002.

It does have 28k miles on it, but obviously weren't hard miles.

Not sure what happened to the guy that lost it, but to lose $10,000 cash must have been pretty hard to take.  :idontgetit:
