HD/Duramax Price??

Recommended Posts

Went to look at a few trucks today and was first looking at an Ext. cab sb, 8.1L 2500HD. The price was arounf 33K. They said the 8.1 's are a little hard to come by and a Diesel is easier to get. The difference in price was about $50 a month. I figured that was worth it. Anyhow the price ended up to be about $35,700 for a white ext cab sb, 4x4, Dura/Alli. Does this sound like a decent price? It was marked down from $40,xxx plus a $2500 rebate. This price included tax and everything out the door. What did you all pay for yours? Also, if I get the truck and put 285's on it, will I have to have the computer flashed? I may have a few more questions for the diesel owners here.

Thanks for any help.  :D

I gave $36500 for my CC,$500 over invoice. Gm will only go so far with the speedo calibration,so it will be off a few mph, mine is 5mph slow with 285 on it. Oh yea make sure they put all the updates in the ecm and the tcm while your there. Enjoy!!

Well, I got him down to 34,100 for the truck. Now if I go through with this I will have to learn alot more about the Diesel and the Allison. Thanks guys, and keep your mind open for questions in the near future.  :D

I also may be selling some things from my Z71.

Just get it, now!  Or, you'll be back here tomorrow night saying "someone else got it, what now?".  :D

I hope that doesn't happen.  :D  The guy I go through is off tomorrow, so it won't be till later in the week if it all goes through right. I'm hoping to get a 2002, because I got worried when I saw the '03 pics. :D

Well??? Did you get it?? Good luck with the deal.

The deal is gonna happen this afternoon! :D:D:D I cleaned out my truck and am bringing it to the job site for the last time today. I am getting new tires for the HD right away. The dealer is giving 80 per tire for the stockers. Now I just have to decide a brand and size I want. I saw 295/75/16 BFG's on stock rims the other day and it looked very nice. I will not choose BFG's again though. I will probably go with a 285 or 305/70 depending on brand. Anyways, I hope this all goes through ok. I get nervous making trades.

Sorry to say, but no truck. :D  TxDoc called that one. It was a dealer trade, but it got sold before I could get it. My dealer is now trying to get another white one from a different dealer on Monday. I also gave him a backup pewter colored truck. There is very very few left of these HD Diesels. I am not worried, but a little pissed off. Would have been nice to have it for the weekend. It's not a huge deal I guess. I'm sure my dealer will find one. I'll keep you all posted.

About the BFG's, yes I am having bad experiences with them. My 285's have never been able to be balanced correctly. I have heard this from other people also. It seems the quality is going down because of mass production.

Don't worry too much. What seems like the worst thing that could happens later turns out to be the best possible thing that could have happend.  Be patient, you will probably end up with a better equipped truck at a better price.
