My new tires

Recommended Posts

I had my new rubber put on today.  They are the Michelin LTX M/S tires and they are load range "E".  They are LT 265/75/16 and have about 400 more lbs of carrying capacity over the stock Firestones.

I don't need a very aggressive tread design because I'll never take my truck on some "serious" 4-wheeling.  These tires are plenty aggressive enough to get me around in the winter, and to back my travel trailer through slippery grass, and the occaisional field path down to a little known bass pond.

I know the picture is crappy, but I thought I'd show you how much better they fill up the wheel wells over the 245/75/16 Firestones.  BTW I got a tremendous deal on these tires.  They were new spare tires off of 3/4 ton Dodge trucks.  My local Michelin dealer wanted $195 each mounted and balanced.  The guy I bought them off of took my 5K mile Firestones on trade, and I did all the wrenching on the truck while he mounted and balanced them.  The bottom line was $300 and drive away!!!

They look good Shane.  And a #### of a deal too.

Thanks Tom.  I'll get a better pic of the whole truck tomorrow when the sun is up.  They sure did improve the stance, and now the tip of the antenna hits the garage door when I back in...

I just seen a set on a Ford Powerstroke today.  Only reason i noticed them was because i looked over to see why his truck was making so much racket

The pics are a little but hard to make out completely but from what I can see they look great with the truck

I don't disagree...  but I am still running the "old fashioned" dial-up modem, so it takes awhile to upload a pic.  So I'm just putting up low res pics so that people like me can view them quickly.

I'll take better ones if you'd like...
