Tuned PCM orf not??

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to tell if a PCM has been tuned? I just bought a 05 HD with the 6.0 it already has a Magnaflow dual exhaust and K&N drop in filter, it seem pretty good to me off the line I get about 11mpg around town but I still have trouble keeping my foot off the floor. Are the PCM's marked when they are tuned? Thanks

As far as I know, they are not marked. You could always take your truck to the dealer and have them flash it, but then that would get ride of any tune it might have, so that is NOT something I would recommend. If you keep it floored, what rpm does it shift at?

It seemes to shift between 4500 and 5000 the 3/4 shift is right at 5000.

That sounds about where my truck shifted before I got it tuned. Now, that doesn't mean that your PCM isn't tuned, but most of the time when one is tuned, they have the shift points moved.

Take it to 100mph. It will stop there if it's not tuned.

Not exactly....mine is tuned, but I purposely left the speed limiter alone.

Ummm...OK. You're the first one. Regardless if his IS tuned or not, if he can't break 100mph then he NEEDS a new tune.

I like being first.... ;)

I had my truck tuned for better performance....going over 100mph is not something I need. So, the tempation to exceed 100mph doesn't matter.

I'll be second. When I get my tune, I am getting it for towing purposes. Don't have much desire to go that fast in a truck. If I want to mash the go pedal that much, I'll get in the wifey's Maxima!
