How many miles do you have on your 6.0 liter motor?

Recommended Posts

Your story is about the same as mine. If it really is your oil pan gasket, that's an easy fix! Gaskets are cheap. Mine unfortunately is the rear main seal...much more difficult to replace.

Did you replace the pan gasket or did you have it done somewhere else? I want to replace mine but not sure which is easier, drop the front diff or lift the engine. I can drop the diff myself, but if I need to lift the engine, I'm going to need some additional tools, manpower, supervisors and of course beer drinkers...

I have 109,000 miles on mine, it has had a very slight cold knock for years, but doesn't hurt anything. I replaced the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay. Other than that, no issues. Some guy I used to work for had a 6.0 and he had about 220,000 miles on his. Only issue he ever had was a AC relay

2005 2500HD 6.0 282,000mi. Original brakes, changed 1 turn signal bulb and one driving light bulb at 250,000. Replaced water pump at 260K and both front wheel hubs at 260K No engine issues at all. Had the recommended 100K service but not at 200K. Replaced plugs, wires and dist cap at 210K Mileage has not changed since the day I bought it. I get 17mpg highway with a tail wind, 14 city. Best truck I've ever owned. Like a Rock!
